[Far away in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them, and try to follow where they lead.

This is me!!

My name is Samantha. Sam, Sammy, Samiah, or even Samurai to my friends. I'm a 22-year-old figure skater/dancer/goofball extraordinaire with a love of life, and a childish obsession with Jim Henson.

As I'm new to the whole blogging thing, please bare with me if I go off on tangent!

I don't want to spend my first blog talking SO much about me. I mean...let's face it...this ISN'T a dating site. Plus, I doubt I'm going to look back on this and have an "Eureka!" moment because I wrote in Sept. 2008 that I LOVE Dunkin' Donuts Iced lattes and enjoy long walks on the beach. haha!

This blog is going to be about what I do with my travels. I've already been SO many places I never though I'd see, and want to keep record of all the adventures I have on the road. Believe me....they ARE adventures. Anyone who says that's a cliche has never been lost on a moped in Rome! :)

I am a professional performer that tours around the world doing what I love. For a college student on hiatus that's a dream come true....especially when you're confused about what path to take in life. *cough* double major in advertising and geology *cough*

So where am I right now????? At home on break and gearing up for the new tour season! I'll be leaving for Scandinavia in about 2 weeks, and can HARDLY wait. I love coming home, but the nostalgia wears off within the first week. It's funny, you long for home when you're on the road so much, but then you get there and don't know what to do. haha!

It's nice though seeing family and friends. Over Labor Day weekend, my mom and I drove down to NY to babysit my 1.5 year old nephew, Mason. I've seen amazing things, and pieces of history. None, however, can compare to wonder I experience watching him grow up. He's an unbelievable boy. Broad vocabulary...like when he schooled this little girl his age at the zoo by naming almost all the animals....am I proud? Most definitely! I'd sooner brag about him than any aspect of my life. Be prepared to have what my mom and I call "The Amazing Mason" stories interspersed in this blog. I won't bore you with all the details now...but be warned...he's a pretty cool kid.

Another thing you'll be seeing are random pics of my cat, Persephone. A close 2nd to my nephew. I miss her so much when I'm away to the point where I got a little black cat stuffed animal to bring with my on my travels.

So that's a lot to digest....Please friend me, and ask any questions you like. The only thing you won't get an answer for is: "Who do you work for?". Don't worry, it's not like SUPER top secret, but I try not to mention my employer online so that i can go into detail about clubs, parties, and what not. haha! I'll probably wind up changing names around anyhoo to protect those involved LOL!

Muchos Besos!
